Echo basics
What is Echo?
Crowd media. Echo listens to what people actually say across 23 platforms, East and West, and distills it into briefs — three takes on the same evidence: Consensus (what the crowd agrees on), Contrarian (the strongest dissent), Insider (what practitioners say).
Where does the data come from?
Public posts and their engagement across Reddit, X, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Hacker News, GitHub, Polymarket, Digg, Rumble, Telegram and 4chan — plus Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Weibo, Kwai, Zhihu and WeChat. Posts are ranked by real engagement, not by what an algorithm guesses you want.
Is this AI-generated? Why should I trust it?
The collection is deterministic: a pipeline gathers real posts and ranks them by engagement — no model chooses what counts as evidence. Language models write up what was collected, and every delivered claim is traced back to a cited item and checked before the report goes out. Where the report reasons beyond what a post literally says, it labels that as inference rather than observation. If a claim has no receipt, it doesn't ship — here is exactly how that is enforced.
How often do topics refresh?
Monthly. Each brief reads the last 30 days, so a topic followed over time becomes a running record of how the conversation moved.
What's the difference between the website and the iPhone app?
Same briefs, same receipts. The app adds following — pick your topics and reading style, and new briefs come to you. Both are free; see pricing.
For business
How is a paid custom report different from the free topics?
The free topics are our editorial picks, published for everyone. A custom report is the same engine pointed at your question — your brand, category, competitor or audience — run on demand, delivered privately, never published on Echo.
What can I ask for?
Anything the crowd talks about: a product category, a competitor, an ingredient, an audience, a narrative, a market. If you're not sure it's researchable, email contact@echosocial.media and we'll tell you straight.
How fast do I get a custom report?
Within 3 business days of confirming the topic. Need it faster for a live situation? Say so — same-week is usually possible.
Do you really read Chinese platforms?
Yes — Zhihu, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili and WeChat, via licensed data access and native-language queries, with the same engagement-ranked receipts as the Western sources. This is the coverage that otherwise starts at enterprise-contract prices.
What exactly does Echo Radar track?
Up to 3 topics of your choice, tracked continuously. Every month you get one combined deep report covering them together, with a “what changed since last month” section, delivered to your inbox (or Slack). Once a quarter you also get a single-topic report on anything you like. You can swap tracked topics monthly and cancel anytime.
Can my agency white-label reports for clients?
Two levels. A $149 report is yours to share with your client and use in your deck — we just ask that the Echo credit line stays on the document. Echo Radar includes full white-label: reports delivered unbranded, ready to carry your logo, no attribution required. Neither tier permits reselling the report itself as a standalone product. If you need something outside that, ask — it's negotiable, and the full position is in the terms.
What if the report misses the mark?
One revision or follow-up question is included with every report. If it still misses the brief, you don't pay.
How do I pay?
Card or invoice — email contact@echosocial.media with your topic and we'll set it up. No procurement maze for a $149 report.
How is this different from Brandwatch, BuzzSumo or Google Trends?
Mostly what you end up holding. Those sell a dashboard or an index — powerful tools, but your team still does the reading, and the seat is billed whether anyone logs in or not. Echo sells the finished read: what the crowd actually said, argued through, with the posts to prove it. The enterprise suites will also quote you analyst-written reports; ours is a fixed $149 with no contract, covers Chinese platforms in the same brief, and lands in three business days.
